Artwork Guidelines for Zarlit Foam Manufacturers
Design Fee, Artwork and Visuals
If you do not provide finished artwork, we will charge an initial design fee of R350 + VAT. This covers up to one hour of work and includes the first version of the layout and one minor revision (version 2).
If you request multiple changes or more than one hour of work, we will charge an additional fee of R250 + VAT per 30 minutes.
We will send you the artwork proofs via email for your approval. Please check them carefully and let us know if you need any changes.
We do not provide physical proofs of silkscreened products. If you require a physical proof of digital work, we will charge an extra fee and the delivery date may be delayed.
Artwork Format and Requirements
Please supply finished artwork in PDF format with all fonts converted to curves or paths. This ensures that the text looks exactly as you intended and avoids any font issues or errors.
To convert fonts to curves or paths in Adobe Illustrator, select the text and choose Type > Create Outlines, or use the keyboard shortcut CTRL-SHIFT-O (for Windows) or CMD-SHIFT-O (for Macs). You can also apply the Effect > Path > Outline Object to the text, which keeps the text editable in Illustrator, but expands it when you export it as a PDF .
Any changes to the artwork that require more than 15 minutes in total will be charged accordingly.
For paper / litho or digital prints that are supplied by you, please ensure that the print fits our die trace. We will send you the die trace upon request. The print must have 5mm bleed on each edge.
Additional Point to Help you with your Artwork
Check the spelling and grammar of your text. Any errors in your text will be printed as they are and may affect the quality and professionalism of your product. Zarlit Foam Manufacturers will not be held accountable for any spelling errors once you have approved the artwork
Use high-quality images and graphics - 300dpi minimum. Avoid using images or graphics that are blurry, distorted, or have low resolution. They will not print well and may ruin the appearance of your design.
Align and balance your elements. Make sure that your elements are aligned and spaced evenly on your artwork. Use guides and grids to help you create a harmonious and symmetrical layout.
Review and approve your artwork proof. Before printing, you will receive an artwork proof from us via email. This is a digital representation of how your artwork will look when printed.
Please review it carefully and let us know if you are happy with it or if you need any changes. Once you approve the artwork proof, we will proceed with the printing process. Please note that any changes after approval WILL incur additional costs and delay the delivery date.
